Front or mid? Auto or manual - or flappy paddle (and which one is that, really??)

Kinja'd!!!

For Jerry from Kentucky, none of these seems as important as being coddled. Should the Corvette move “upmarket” to suit Jerry’s tastes?

Kinja'd!!!

Road noise from the tire area? No heated steering wheel?! What the... Corvette, why do you hate good Americans like Jerry from Kentucky?

I’ll be surprised if GM labels it a Corvette. I think positioning it as Cadillac’s halo car would work well, but the spy shots so far don’t seem to have any of Cadillac’s current design language as far as I can tell

My K900 has everything Jerry wants. Maybe he would trade with me?

He wants a grand tourer, not a sports car. I get it, but buy an XLR if thats what you want.

I just want the one in your picture: big block V-8, side pipes, 4-speed stick, and a drop top.

My dads first car was a black 65 vette convertible. His second was a 69 442. My car ownership list is sad and pathetic by comparison.

Luxury options don’t make or break a Corvette. But I wouldn’t get too crazy with them. Maybe Cadillac should bring back th e XLR to fill that niche.

Ultimately, there are only a few things that I find to be critically important parts of a Corvette’s identity. It HAS to be RWD. The engine HAS to be in front of the driver. I t has to LOOK like a Corvette, sharing some measure of design consistency from its previous generations . I would throw in 2-door & 2-seater as necessities too , but there are plenty of cars out there that offer both coupe and sedan variants, so maybe that’s not as important as I want it to be. Of course power is important, but I’m not sure how to define it. As much as I want to say V8, i t shouldn’t really be based on the number of cylinders. M aybe base it on power-to-weight ?
